Cypher's Tree Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Butler, Pennsylvania · Butler County
A third-generation family tree farm on Wise Road outside Butler where you can tag a fir or spruce in early November and come back after Thanksgiving to cut it, with trees priced by the foot.
Walk the fields in November to find and tag your tree, then return once cutting opens the day after Thanksgiving. Fraser, Concolor and Douglas fir and blue spruce are sold by the foot with tax included, and the farm also lets you dig your own live tree.
Supply in the fields has been tight, and the cut-your-own fields closed in early December last season, so plan an early visit. The farm is closed on Sundays and weekday hours in December start mid-afternoon. Cards, checks and cash are all accepted. For the fresh cut at home, use a coarse hand saw rather than a reciprocating saw.
