Santa's Tree Farm and Village
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Half Moon Bay, California · San Mateo County
A Half Moon Bay choose-and-cut farm on Highway 92 that grew from a single acre of Monterey pine seedlings into a sprawling hillside of trees, with a holiday village, trackless train and Santa visits on weekends.
You are handed a saw and set off into the fields to find your own tree; field trees run up to about 13 feet, and pre-cut trees up to 9 feet wait in the barn. The farm grows Douglas fir, Monterey pine, Norway spruce, cedar and redwood, and flocking is available.
On weekends through mid-December the village opens with the train, a gift shop in the old dairy barn and Mrs. Claus' Kitchen, plus ticketed story times with Santa or Buddy the Elf. Each tree comes with a free candy cane and a Santa visit while supplies last. Cards are accepted with a surcharge, so cash saves a little. Highway 92 traffic can be heavy on December weekends, so arrive early.
