A large family farm and market near Gervais, between Portland and Salem, known for its fall harvest festival, that opens a u-cut field of Douglas and noble fir in mid-November at a flat price per tree.
Bauman's starts its tree season earlier than most farms in the area, with both u-cut and fresh local pre-cut trees. U-cut trees are priced by variety rather than height, so a tall Douglas fir costs the same as a small one.
The farm market is open daily, which makes it an easy weekday stop. The drive from Portland is roughly 45 minutes down I-5. Check the farm's site before you go for the current season's start date and prices.
