Bays Family Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Banks, Oregon · Washington County
A family farm in the hills near Banks with weekend u-cut fields of Douglas, grand, noble and Nordmann fir, including big natural Nordmann tops for high ceilings, plus a table of free warm drinks.
Borrow a saw at the farm, head into the rows and return it when you are done. Shaking and baling are free for trees that fit the baler, which on busy weekends means trees under about eight feet. The farm itself suggests noble or Nordmann fir if you want a tree that keeps taking up water through the season, and recommends keeping the fresh cut from drying out before it goes in the stand.
The farm is open on weekends and by appointment on weekdays, so call ahead for prices and to book a weekday visit. Come before four in the afternoon to choose in daylight. A local crafter sells handmade decorations, and cocoa and spiced cider are free.
