Rum River Tree Farm & Nursery

Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Oak Grove, Minnesota · Anoka County

A 280-acre tree farm along the Rum River in Oak Grove where you can cut balsam, Fraser and Canaan fir or pine, with free hot drinks and Santa and hayride weekends early in the season.

Staff hand out saws and twine at the farm, and tree shaking is free; netting and baling are available too. Chain saws and electric saws are not allowed. The farm sets one flat price for any cut-your-own tree regardless of species or size, and there is also a pre-cut lot with trees from about 4 to 12 feet.

On the first event weekends after Thanksgiving, the farm adds free Santa visits, hayrides, a petting zoo and food trucks. Bring a blanket to protect your roof. The pay shed takes cash, cards and tap-to-pay but not checks, and leashed dogs are welcome if you clean up after them.
