Mistletoe Meadows
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Laurel Springs, North Carolina · Ashe County
A large, award-winning farm near Laurel Springs that supplied a White House tree, with more varieties than most mountain farms and hayrides and hot cocoa in the barn.
Mistletoe Meadows grows a wider mix than the usual High Country Fraser fir field, including Canaan and concolor fir, blue and Norway spruce, white pine and Leyland cypress. Once you have found your tree, staff cut it, bale it and load it.
Hayrides run on open days, and hot cocoa is served in the barn. Refreshments and restrooms are available. The season starts with an opening-weekend event shortly before Thanksgiving and continues on weekends into December.
