Appalachian Evergreens

Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Boone, North Carolina · Watauga County

A choose-and-cut farm near Boone known for its Fraser fir wreaths and garland, with field trees in the five to nine foot range and live balled-and-burlapped trees for replanting.

Pick a Fraser fir in the field and the crew cuts it, bales it and ties it to your car. If you would rather plant your tree after the holidays, the farm also sells balled-and-burlapped trees.

Complimentary hot cocoa or cider is served, and the shop has wreaths, mantel garland, Fraser fir sprays and decorations. The farm also ships wreaths if you want to send one to family. It opens only on a few weekends, so check dates first.
