Chimney Pond Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Glenville, North Carolina · Jackson County
A farm and lodge near Lake Glenville that opens its hillside Fraser fir fields for two choose-and-cut weekends each holiday season, with more than 120 acres of hand-sheared trees at about 3,800 feet.
Walk the rows, pick a Fraser fir between 3 and 12 feet, and cut it on the slope. The trees are hand-trimmed and grown without Roundup, using mineral oil and integrated pest management. If neither weekend works, a tree and wreath can be pre-ordered and picked up later.
The fields are steep and the terrain is rough in places, so wear boots with good grip, and contact the farm about accessibility. The farm is about 15 minutes from Cashiers and roughly an hour and 45 minutes from Asheville, with fishing, alpacas and fire pits on the property at other times of year.
