Schell Family Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Pinckney, Michigan · Livingston County
A young family farm on Dexter-Pinckney Road with u-cut fir and spruce at one flat price, a pre-cut lot and a big red barn that also hosts fruit picking, sunflowers and fall events.
The cutting fields hold Fraser, Canaan and Douglas fir plus Norway and blue spruce, and every u-cut tree costs the same regardless of size or variety, which makes taller trees a good deal. Pre-cut Fraser, Douglas fir and blue spruce are sold too.
The Christmas season is short: the farm opens on the day after Thanksgiving and then on weekends only until shortly before Christmas. Wreaths, gifts and donuts have been sold at the barn. In summer and fall the farm runs u-pick fruit and a pumpkin patch, so it is worth a return visit.
