Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Armada, Michigan · Macomb County
The Armada orchard and cider mill turns into a u-cut tree farm each winter, with wagon rides out to fields of Fraser and concolor fir, spruce and pine and hot cider back at the mill.
Pick up a complimentary saw at the Apple Barn, then ride the wagon out to the fields, since cars and pets are not allowed there. Staff help you find a tree, tag it and bring it up separately, then shake, bale and drill it while you browse the market or have a drink.
Fraser and concolor fir are the farm's favorites, alongside blue spruce, Douglas fir and limited Scotch and white pine. Pre-cut trees are also sold at the cider mill and Blake's other locations. In other seasons the farm runs u-pick apples, pumpkins, raspberries and flowers.
