Ryan's Nursery
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Ida, Michigan · Monroe County
A Monroe County nursery founded in 1990 with 14 acres of Christmas trees to roam, nine kinds of fir, pine and spruce, and the option to cut your own tree or have the crew cut it for you.
Walk the 14 acres to find your tree, then cut it yourself or ask staff to cut it. The fields hold Fraser, Canaan, concolor and Douglas fir, Austrian, Scotch and white pine, and blue and Black Hills spruce, and there are pre-cut trees as well.
Trees are shaken before you go, and carry-out bags, stands, wreaths and grave blankets are sold in the gift shop. Weekday hours start late in the afternoon and run until dark, so weekends give you more daylight in the field.
