Live Tree or Die Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Amherst, New Hampshire · Hillsborough County
A small choose-and-cut farm on Cricket Hill in Amherst, southern New Hampshire, where every tree sells for the same price and free hot chocolate and donuts wait by an outdoor fire.
The farm supplies saws, so you only need to bring yourselves. Balsam, Fraser and concolor fir grow in the fields, along with some Scotch and white pine and balsam hybrids, and staff will net your tree for the ride home. Stands are sold on site, with free drilling for pin-style stands.
Trees are sold on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and then on December Saturdays until the field is picked over. Buying ahead online locks in a tree of at least seven feet. Leave dogs at home. Cash, checks, major cards and Venmo are accepted, and a portable toilet is on site.
