Paul Bunyan's Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Chicopee, Massachusetts · Hampden County
A Chicopee farm just north of Springfield where you walk the fields in early fall to tag your own Fraser or fir, then return in the holiday season to cut it, with trees up to giant sizes.
Tagging works like this: pay a small deposit, mark your tree with ribbon and a name tag using the farm map, and come back to harvest it later in the season. A saw and cart are provided. Staff shake out loose needles, trim the base, net the tree and tie it to your car; the largest trees need a pickup truck.
If you'd rather not cut, pre-cut trees are sold in many sizes. The farm also makes wreaths and holiday decor. Tagging sells out, so start early.
