Barry Farms
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Harwinton, Connecticut · Litchfield County
A small family tree farm in Harwinton where you cut Fraser and balsam fir from the field, with a few concolor fir and blue spruce, and then browse a Christmas store stocked with local artisan goods.
The field trees run mostly 5 to 8 feet, and the farm sets a harvest limit each year, so the cut-your-own field can close early in December. Pre-cut Nova Scotia balsams are sold alongside. A shaker and netting machine are on site, tagging trees ahead of time is not allowed, and reservations are not taken.
The store sells handmade wreaths and centerpieces from locally gathered greens, dried and fresh florals and local gifts. There are no public restrooms, so plan ahead. Follow the farm on Facebook or join its email list for opening news.
