Midland Holiday Pines
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Shawnee, Kansas · Johnson County
A small family-owned choose-and-cut farm on about seven acres in Shawnee, with field-grown pines from about 6 to 18 feet and pre-cut trees trucked in from northern growers.
Walk the rows of Scotch, Virginia and white pine and cut your tree yourself, or ask the staff to help with the cutting. Most trees run 7 to 10 feet, but taller ones are in the field too. For a fir, look at the pre-cut trees shipped in from Michigan, Wisconsin and North Carolina.
The farm opens on the day after Thanksgiving and then keeps weekend hours only. Sales run only while trees last, and the farm has aimed to sell through its stock within the opening weekend, so go early and check the farm's pages before driving out later in the season.
