Hartikka Tree Farms

Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Voluntown, Connecticut · New London County

A large Voluntown grower in eastern Connecticut with choose-and-cut fields of fir and spruce, horse-drawn wagon rides on busy weekends and weekend food vendors serving cocoa, donuts and wood-fired pizza.

Saws are on hand, though the farm suggests bringing your own. Free carts carry your tree from the field to the baler and on to your car, and parking sits close to the trees. Trees can't be tagged ahead, so the whole field is open to everyone. Very large trees of 10 to 15 feet are sold by appointment.

Payment is cash or check only, with ID for checks. Leashed dogs are welcome if you clean up after them. Tailgating parties are not allowed in the parking fields, and bad-weather closures are posted on Facebook.
