Claybrooke Farm

Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Mineral, Virginia · Louisa County

A family-owned Louisa County farm growing Christmas trees since 1984, where visitors reserve a time to choose and cut a Canaan fir, with smaller numbers of concolor fir and blue spruce.

Claybrooke runs its cut-your-own season by reservation, so watch the farm's website and social pages in the fall for booking to open. Canaan fir is the main crop, valued for its fragrance and sturdy branches, while concolor fir and Colorado blue spruce are grown in limited quantities. Pre-cut trees are also sold.

Before your tree leaves the farm, staff give the trunk a fresh cut so it can take up water once you get home. Keep the stand full, especially the first day, and set the tree away from heat vents and fireplaces.
