Ben's Christmas Tree Farm
Cut-your-own Christmas trees · Harvard, Illinois · McHenry County
A 100-acre farm at the end of Ryan Road in Harvard growing eight kinds of hand-pruned, Certified Naturally Grown trees, with more than 10,000 Fraser firs and free wagon rides into the fields.
Saws and twine are free, and wagons carry you out to the rows. After you cut, staff bring the tree back, shake it and bale it, and they can help tie it to your car if you ask. Trees run up to 12 feet and taller, and pricing is by the foot with a separate, lower rate for pines.
The farm grows Fraser, Canaan, balsam and concolor fir, Norway and blue spruce, and Scotch and white pine without herbicides or pesticides. Santa and horse-drawn wagon rides are usually around during the middle of the day. Cards are accepted with a small fee, and sturdy boots are a good idea.
